Ⅰ. TNY268PN Description

TNY268PN is a TinySwitch-II, EcoSmart, enhanced energy-saving low-power offline switch in an 8-pin DIP package. The device integrates a 700V power MOSFET, oscillator, high-voltage switching current source, current limit and thermal shutdown circuitry into a single monolithic device. Since a bias winding and associated circuitry is not required, startup and operating power comes directly from the voltage on the DRAIN pin. In addition, TinySwitch-II devices integrate automatic restart, line undervoltage detection, and frequency jittering. The innovative design minimizes audio components in a simple ON/OFF control scheme to virtually eliminate the audible noise of standard taped/painted transformer construction. Fully integrated auto-restart circuitry safely limits output power during fault conditions such as output short circuit or open loop, reducing component count and secondary feedback circuitry cost.
